Push Push Push, Limp, Win

I am not sure what it is about winning and writing in my blog. When I lose I have no interest and when I win, I cannot wait to write in it. Last week was uneventful. I played at the CPT on Saturday and got creamed, then went to James/Jules' house and bubbled in a small tourney. I played at my house on Tuesday for a $40 SNG and played great until I could not lay JJ on a 9 high on the turn. It was a very bad play, after betting pot twice, it is rare that a pair is any good.

Onto Thursday for Omaha where I lost heads up but we were only paying 1st place. Then Sunday night it was the Jinny Open. As strange as it seems, I felt really good about winning early. It seems to be one of these things that if I don't go below starting stack, I win. And like any tourney things just go your way.

The highlights:

1) Limp call with 22 UTG at a 7 man table. Flop came 246. Orginal raise bet 1/3 of my stack. I went allin and then talked him into calling with AQ.

2) EP raise when I have AA in mp. I re-raised half of EP's stack and he just flat called which was strange. Q high flop and he checked, I went all-in and he called with AK.

3) Busted 2 shortstacks with A10 and AJ.

So after all this I was at 24000 and massive at the Final table when 5 handed started. With COJO in my bb when I was sb and Joey on the button, it meant Joey was not stealing much and COJO needed a hand to call with. I pushed all-in no matter what I had when it was folded around to me. This started a downswing.

1) I pushed with 32o against cojo and he called with 79 sooted. He was very short and needed to take a chance. He hit trip 9s.

2) When we got to 4 handed I raised with K8o and COJO pushed for 1/3 of the pot more. I called and he turned over AA

3) Jesse A who raised my BB 4 times ina row made a micro raise from UTG. I think to 2200 when blinds were 400/800. I re-raised 4000 more with 73o and he came over the top for half my stack

4) I raised from the button with 67o. Board came down KQ8. Jesse checked to me, I bet half the pot and he raised.

All this brought me down to 4000 and desperate 3 handed. I the doubled up and then some, just by going all-in and stealing blinds. I pushed basically with any 2 cards and just hoped for the best. I literally must have push about 15 hands out of 25. I did push with AK and 1010 but other than that it was crap. 109, J4, K5, 107o all seemed like monsters.

Then I limped with AK hoping to get raised. The bb just checked. I missed everything and had to fold to a river bet. After watching the other small stack double up and have about 16000, I knew sitting at 9000 with blinds 500/1000 was not good. I pushed more and built myself to 12500. Then it happens:

I get AA in the SB. Button folds. I limp in on Jesse hoping for a raise and he checked. The flop came Q28. I bet minimum. He said, that is so wierd. You limp and then bet min?. Then he went to raise, I insta-allin and he instacalls. And I am thinking he must have Q8 or Q2 but no, he has KK!! Sweet.

I doubled up and we decided on a 3 way chop where Jesse and I got 650 and Corey from Prescott got 450. It was a fair chop because between 1st and 2nd paid $1500 total so I wasn't likely to get more than 750 if we chopped heads up.

I had a blast though. I love playing with solid players.
