Well went to River for 1/2 action last night. It was a pretty loose game with some players who were there I think just to donate
James and I got there around 10pm and there were 7 players in the game. Dr Sparks showed up as well and the 3 of us filled the table.
There were really no hands to post about early on. I won 2 large pots with weaker holdings betting on the river with top pair after I tried to see my opponents miss their draw. I also limped called with 87s, faced a Dr Sparks raise. Flop came 448 rainbow and I bet at it and the Dr folded.
At around midnight I was thinking this was never going to happen. I still had not seen a PP yet. I got AK once and limped because I was UTG. I missed and had to fold. Then I accidentally mucked my cards face up (don't ask). A few players at the table started calling me concrete. Ya that's me, a complete brick.
I was then UTG + 3 with 2C3C. UTG raised to $11. UTG +2 called. I called. I think there were 3 more callers.
The flop came out:
6C8CKH.
Checked to me. I felt I could take the pot down there with a bet because I had such a tight image and only a couple players in the game even knew me. I lead out for $25 and got 2 callers. Cmon club me!
The turn was a 10D. Not a great card but I really felt it helped my opponent which is good if my flush hits. I only had $125 left at this point (bought in for $180). I had to find a way to get a free card so I checked. Then the perfect question. My opponent says how much do you have left? I said $125, bet 60 and. I will go all-in. He counted his chips. Thought about it and then checked. The river was a JC (thanks skip).
I said well if I check, you are betting so I better get defensive. I bet $60 thinking he would put me all-in or fold. But he just called and 2 players at the table said "flush".. He saw the flush (said he thought the river was a spade, lol). Ship the cookies.
I then got my first pp of the night, a nice pair too! AA, UTG + 1. For some reason, I just did not feel like thinking too much and I limped after UTG limped. I was up around $100 and was fine with just taking the pot down preflop or laying the AA down if there were 9 people in the hand. To my left Dr Sparks makes it $10 and the player I hit the flush against goes all-in for $11 so a raise of $1. It folded all the way back to me. For some unknown reason I re-raised $25 more and Dr Sparks folded confused when I showed AA. The pusher had QQ and my bullets held up.
I then won another small pot and had about $350. I needed sleep so we took off. So the final tally was exactly $150 profit.
Not bad for just over 2 hours.
