3 Game Losing Streak

I hate writing about poker when I lose but here goes.

Friday night at the Loft: I raise with JJ early on, get re-raised preflop, the flop comes 10 high I bet out, get re-raised again. I push all-in thinking I have to be beat. Guy turns over A10 and I double up. I don't see another river until the final table. I push all-in in mid position and a player pushes all-in right next to me over top with A9 with 5 players left to act. I lost a race and bust.

Sunday night: I did not make any mistakes but got no cards. I pushed allin 3 handed with AKs and got insta-called for a guy's entire stack with A5s. Flop came K high and he hit runner runner wheel.

Last night at WNP: mistake free poker again but this time I built a healthy stack. I used my image perfectly. At the 70/140 level I raised to 460 with QQ. The tightest player at the table re-raised to 1200 and only left himself 1500. I was certain he had TT or JJ. If I pushed him in and lost, I would be down to 860 but I was sure I had him crushed. I pushed he insta-called and showed JJ and I was very happy with my read. He hit his set and I was crushed. I had lots of trouble getting into a pot and then made the perfect squeeze play on a UTG limp, someone called my all-in with J10 for 1/3 of their stack. If they lose the hand their M is under 9 and they still had the UTG limp behind them, if the UTG pushed they were committed to called with J10. A very strange hand. I had Q8s and was ahead slightly but lost the hand. There are a few WNP players who will not call my all-ins with anything but a huge hand for fear of doubling me up and then there is a few who will call with anything. Its a good mix and makes it a very winable game if your hands hold.

The other interesting thing is, it has been about 6 months since I have raised, then been re-raised and I pushed all-in for all my chips and I was anything but 80/20. I am pretty proud of that record. Unfortunately poker is a game where you will make a perfect play and lose 20% of the time.

And something very funny too. Someone recently questioned for me posting so much of my strategy on the internet. After all the thousands of words I write about strategy, I still get people insta-calling with JJ after re-raising me and me pushing all my chips in knowing the other person is committed to the pot (it was 1500 into 2600). I can guarantee if I put all my chips in when I do not need to JJ is 19% vs my hand but I love the call, want the call and continue to get the call.

The bad part is, I don't think I can play for a while now. Maybe after thanksgiving.

I thought my J10 was good! It was only 720 to me and I figured it was a worthwhile shot to try and bust you. You say when you get that low, you push with any two cards, so I figured you were making a move. And stop calling my play strange.

The call was strange because you had Jack high and there was a limper behind you and it was 1/3 of your stack. So if the other player calls or pushes you have committed yourself to the pot. The blinds were going up next hand and your M would be 8 if you lose the hand. J10 is a strong hand against J9 to J2 other than that you cannot be more than 55%-60% to win the hand but you could be totally crushed or behind. I am always happy to get called in that spot, if I have 23 there I am happy you called because I need the chips. If people only called me when I was behind, I would never win, the fact that I get called so often when I am ahead makes the game easier to play.
