WNP Failure Again....

Well WNP was an awesome line-up again. We actually filled up by 2pm and took a 17th player in. As always the play was great early on. Unfortunately for me, I got very short early. Down to 520 in chips. I was very careful about when I put my chips in. Luckily due to my "push all-in with anything" image I got called when I pushed with AA and KK. The Kings were pretty funny because my opponent raised and said he had a "medium ace". I pushed all-in and told him he could see one card. I knew he would ask to see one and of course he would think I would be ahead. If I had AK I would never show him one because he might pick the Ace and fold. The only had with a K in it that he was behind too was KK. I thought I wrecked it and he wasn't calling but he did....

I won a few more hands and got up to 3000. The last hand before the Final Table I flopped the nuts and got up to almost 4000. The the first hand at the Final Table, I got KK again and there was a raise in front of me. The next hand I got 88, raised and took the blinds so quickly I am at 5300.

The way the stacks were playing out, there were 7 left but I was 2nd in chips. I raised into a shortstack's BB to 1000 when blinds were 150/300. The BB had 2700 left and I knew I was committing myself to call the all-in. I had 1010 which at that point of the tourney playing 5 handed I consider very strong. The button re-raised me to 2600 and the BB pushed allin for a re-raise of only 150 more. I really thought about pushing here. I felt the button had AK but the BB push here made no sense to me. I had to put them on at least QQ and I felt like I could possibly have the worst hand. I folded the 1010 and saw my read was correct on the button but the BB had AQ which I found very strange and confusing. The flop came 10 high which was even more depressing. I still feel it was the right play and would make it again in a heartbeat but it sucked to see those cards play out.

I then tried to make a hand shorthanded and really did not see anything. The best hand I saw was 33 and folded it based on my read out of the corner of my eye in the BB who had 1010 (there was a 3 on that flop too).

I then tried to stay alive by pushing a lot but I did not push into raises and eventually got blinded out and finished 4th and made $50.

I am hoping to play in the CPT rebuy event on Saturday night.

I had 3.5 x bb and was UTG. I had to push with any 2 cards.
