This is my first big hand. Preflop is pretty standard. I like to lead these flops as I believe it makes it look like I have a draw or air so much. When I get raised I know I am taking a chance just flatting as I really need to brick the turn here to get it in as I have now invited all the draws in. Really most of the deck will be a brick on the turn and there is no way anyone is going to see a river for free if I do brick so I am comfortable with my flop play here as risky as it is, I am gambling to double up here. The turn is basically because my stack isn’t really deep enough here and my line was so messy I am hoping the villain has what he has or a draw he isn’t good enough to fold.

Here is about the only time I ever limp in an MTT. There is a limper in front and I am looking for the flop I want. The villain is not able to clue into how strong I am and just keeps using the bet pot button. Obviously on the turn he cant fold.

Here is one of these gamble spots where villains try to get me to fold but I never will. The sb flats which I never recommend doing if the bb is short unless you are so strong you can snap flat the button’s shove. I think many players are afraid to play hands this way but I think you need to in order to build a stack to ship these tournies.

Here is another one that I raise looking to steal, get a call and win on the flop. My basic rule on a hand like this is to bet if I think I have such a low chance to win the hand. This board is terrible for my hand so I take one stab normally and give up. Again this is risky because many times villain will call, board will run out very dirty and I keep trying to win the pot.

This hand is pretty close. When you are constantly opening with nothing it makes it tough to fold a hand as strong as 88. In many tourneys vs many players 88 is never anything but flipping here however I would take this flip knowing that winning this hand will give me a very productive stack. I changed my game a lot recently in trying to produce productive stacks instead of just trying to survive. Unfortunately sometimes sh—happens and you end up short again trying to rebuild. The good news is because I was trying so hard to build my stack hands like this don’t bust me, they just shortstack me giving me a chance to build again.

I did not remember this hand until I looked over the hand history. I don’t really like my play here but I remember I did it because I thought villain was folding often as he was limping into so many pots. The problem I have with my play here is he has me murdered with Ad or Kd high and he probably wont fold those hands. Turns out he limped with J2s and did not have a diamond so I got lucky.

Hmmm….lol. I don’t know what to say. This is pretty crazy but the pot was just too big to give up on. This is not going to work often so you need to put in a lot of volume to benefit from this play because you are probably getting called more than 50% of the time when you shove the turn but the times you don’t get called you double up so you are pretty much flipping here.

This is the hand directly after and I left it just to show what stealing the pot before allows me to do the very next hand as my stack size is big enough that I can sacrifice a bit to steal the blinds again.

This is the villain I end up playing heads up with. I found them very difficult to play against. Constantly opening from everywhere. This is a tough spot now as we are pretty deep 30bbs effective. If I 3 bet, I am never folding and flatting is so tough as we are early in the hand. I choose to fold and pick better spots vs this villain.

This is actually how I figured out how good this villain is. 95% of villains would never bet his hand here so I basically discounted any nine in his holding. I am not usually calling rivers and not being able to put villain on a hand but here I just could not believe he had a nine and decided to avoid him as much as possible especially guess spots like this. Back to 30ish bbs I go.

I know this seems a little weak when the cards flip over but I believe villain plays AA or KK, or a 9 the same way. I have been so aggro that a lot of bad players are going to try to trap me here. By playing it the way I did, I still have 14 bbs. If I got crazy and bet 3 streets, I could be out when I am beat.

This looks like a thin shove but I kind of felt like there was fold equity as villain just lost a big pot with KK vs AQ. I thought he could be opening really light and it turns out he was and not folding but we were flipping which I could afford to do.

I folded about 10 hands in a row then went to open and got insta 3 bet. It was becoming more difficult to stay away from those 2 as we were 4 handed. The shortstack was super tight as well so everyone was picking on him.

I want to be really tough to 3 bet so I need to add 4 betting to balance all of my opens. I think 66 is a great hand to 4 bet in this spot especially because I still have 700k if I lost a flip but I am picking up a lot of dead money shoving.

This is obviously a 3 bet fold and to be honest, I almost 5 bet here as the villain insta 4 bet but I really felt like I could find better spots. Here is another big one. I actually felt like I was good on the turn possibly. I don’t think the villain is going to have K high here very often and every K he calls with has me crushed already. This was a very big hand to help me move toward the win. I was really giving up after the turn but decided that was the perfect river to 3 barrel. I thought he would still call as I don’t think I would ever call 2 streets and fold here but I wanted to fire it anyway because there is no way I want to check call river as I don’t think I was good. This is the first time villain called my 3 bet. When they check the flop I am not as worried about the ace. The turn is an interesting card because I really feel villains range is polarized and now I am losing to JJ which makes up some of his range. I decided to check call and fold river depending on what happens. After river hit, I pretty much wasn’t folding. Still a good pot but it would have been over if we had a low flop.
